Is it Friday Already?

Wow. I've neglected my DD blog! My OTHER blog is taking up my posting time! I need to learn to give equal attention to both!

I've also started working evenings and weekends and I think that has a lot to do with my poor blog management skills.

So hopefully you will forgive me...

In the meantime I have a dilemma. I have to make a main course for like 20 people. We are in brokesville right now and I am at a loss as to what to make. Yes, me...lost in my own kitchen!

I need a budget friendly giant recipe to feed a small army! I am turning to you for help! I have to cook this on Monday. It can't be a stew, chili or lasagna since that has already been served recently.

I am pondering making pulled pork sandwiches since I have a bunch of pork in my freezer...but I like having a few options to choose from!

I'm depending on you fellow bloggers to come up with something CHEAP & YUMMY!! - Tried & True recipes are even more Fabulous! Please don't let me down!!

Hello! Saw you over on SITS!
Here is a great recipe that I make when we're a bit broke:

Mom's Vegetable Beef Soup
1 medium beef roast or 2-3lbs stew meat - cut into bite-sized pieces.
4 larg potatoes - peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces.
2 large onions - diced
2 cans peas with juice
1 large bottle tomatoe juice
1 bage frozen slices carrots
1 head cabbage - diced into about 1.5 - 2 inch pieces.

In a large stock pot, brown the beef in a little oil along with seasoning. I use Lawrey's and garlic powder. Add onions when beef is nearly done.

Add all other ingredients and add water to get the consistency you like.

Season to taste.

Simmer until all veggies are soft and to your liking. Add more water if necessary.

Serve with grilled cheese sandwiches or a crusty bread or just crackers.

A family favorite at my house since I was a little one.

Good luck!!

Hi - popping over from SITs....

I am a big fan of Pasta and Sauce...

You can make a great sauce with your pork, chunk it up, pan fry it with some carrots, onions and garlic. Remove it from the pan, add some red wine to deglaze, some crushed tomatoes ( as much as needed) and then put pack the pork and vegetables. Season with salt and pepper as needed.

Simmer for several hours and serve over penne pasta with a salad on the side.

Regards...

I have just started a blog as a gathering place for recipe's. It is limited there as I just put it up, but on it there is a Mexican Chicken Casserole that is good. It is put into a casserole dish, and doesn't cost alot to double it, which I do all of the time. It also freezes so easily. the address is www.recipegather.blogspot.com

Leave a recipe if you wish.
